How to restore to a previous SharePoint version of a binder
Updated over 3 months ago

In very rare instances where you need to restore to a previous SharePoint version of your binder, please ensure you seek the help of your IT person to follow these steps:

1- Close the Excel program completely.

2- Log into the Active Workpapers binder that needs to be restored to a previous version.
3- Click "Open in Excel Online."

4- Click on the binder name at the top left of the webpage and select the last path location under the "Location" section.

5- Click the three dots next to your Excel workbook and select "Version History" from the dropdown menu.

6- Clicking on different version histories will open them in Excel. Please note that the times and dates may not be accurate, as SharePoint uses generic region/timezone settings.

7- Inspect the Excel workbooks you open until you find the version history you wish to restore. We recommend closing the login window and the add-in whilst you are trying to find the desired version.

8- Once you are satisfied with a SharePoint version, close Excel completely. Reopen the relevant version history from step 6, log into the add-in, and click "Restore" at the top. Ensure the add-in is fully logged in and working before you click the "Restore" button. Clicking "Restore" will override your current SharePoint version with the version you have chosen to restore.
