Overview: When creating a new binder using rollover, you may encounter an error message indicating the source binder is corrupted. This article explains how to repair and proceed with the binder creation.

Error message
When attempting to create a new binder using rollover, you may see the following error message:

"It looks like the source binder is corrupted, and we are unable to proceed. Please repair the source binder, then try again. If you need further assistance, please contact our support team."

How to resolve
Follow these steps to repair the corrupted source binder:

Step 1: Open the source binder in Excel
Navigate to the source binder in Active Workpapers
Click Open in Excel from the menu
Step 2: Repair the file
When Excel opens, you will receive a prompt stating "We found a problem with some content in '[Binder Name].xlsix'. Do you want us to try to recover as much as we can?"
Click Yes to allow Excel to repair the file
Step 3: Save the repaired version
In Excel, click File > Save As
Save the repaired file to your desktop or preferred location
Close Excel completely
Step 4: Upload the repaired version
Return to Active Workpapers and navigate to the source binder
Click the Settings & Tools icon (gear symbol) in the top menu
Select Excel Binder Profile from the dropdown menu
In the Document Versions section, click Upload New Version
Select the repaired file from your desktop
Click Save and Close
Step 5: Create the new binder
After uploading the repaired version, attempt to create your new binder using rollover again
The process should now complete successfully without the corruption error

Try using a different browser or incognito mode
Ensure all Excel instances are closed before uploading
