To assist users when they encounter range errors within Active Workpapers

Updated over a week ago

Overview: An issue may occur within an Active Workpaper binder where formulas in a worksheet fail to function or prefill with the correct values. As a result, users may encounter #NAME? or #N/A errors in their Excel workbooks.

To troubleshoot this issue please follow the below set of instruction:

1. Refresh the Add-in

  • Open the binder in Excel Desktop and ensure the add-in/side pane loads fully.

  • Right-click an empty area within the add-in and select Refresh.

  • This action should prompt the add-in to prefill any formulas that rely on it.

2. Unhide and Delete the Home Sheet

  • Right-click any sheet tab at the bottom of Excel and select Unhide.

  • Choose the Home sheet and click OK.

  • Right-click the Home sheet in the same row once it becomes visible and select Delete.

  • Then, refresh the add-in as described in Step 1.

  1. Verify Excel Compatibility

Please refer to our System Requirements to ensure you're using a compatible version of Excel.

  2. Isolate and Reinsert the Problematic Sheet

    • If the issue is limited to a specific sheet, try clicking optimise performance button at the top.

    • If issue persists, copy the problematic sheet into a new Excel workbook.

    • Delete the underlying sheet from the excel workbook by deleting any associated records from the side pane.

    • Reinsert a fresh record from the side pane using the Add Record button to check if the issue is resolved.

If the issue persists after completing these steps, please contact support for further assistance.
